About the job

Ceisler Media seeks a Social Media Associate to join our growing staff and work alongside our Digital & Creative Services team as our firm continues to its mission to provide 360-degree communications support to a variety of clients. The person in this role provides strategic guidance and tactical support to coworkers and clients on digital and social media channels, including best practices for account creation, organic content and paid campaigns. Our clients range from well-known corporations to small nonprofits that need to elevate their message; audience targeting is important and precision is key. The ideal candidate is both a planner and doer, manages their time well and can tactfully guide clients on their social media journeys. This position is based in Philadelphia and reports to the Director of Digital Strategy,

Education

  • Two or more years of digital experience in a public relations agency, corporation, political campaign, government administration, or nonprofit organization and at least four years of total experience in communications and/or grassroots advocacy

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital communications, English, public relations, political science, urban studies, business, marketing or a related liberal arts field

  • Certifications and trainings in digital media are a plus but not required

Requirements

Hands-on experience with:

  • Social media management, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn

  • Principles and methods of planning and executing digital campaigns and strategy

  • Best practices related to social media optimization and algorithm performance

  • Digital advertising platforms, including Facebook/Instagram Business Manager, Twitter Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager and Google Ads

  • Policies related to advertising on digital and social media platforms

  • Analytics reporting, including social media tools like Sprout and Hootsuite

  • Understanding of pixel tracking and Google Analytics

  • Digital copywriting for social media and the web

  • Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

High-level awareness of:

  • Sprout Social or other social media management applications

  • Content management systems, including SquareSpace, Wix and WordPress

  • Principles and methods of website content management

  • Principles and methods of search engine optimization (SEO)

  • Principles of graphic design, videography and branding (Formal training not required.)

  • Political digital advertising verification and authorization requirements

  • Constant Contact, MailChimp or other email platforms

Responsibilities

  • Creates social media accounts, ad accounts, ad disclaimers, and business managers

  • Advises clients and account leads on social media and digital strategy, including review copy and content calendars for digital optimization

  • Conducts detailed digital communications research and analysis for Ceisler Media clients, their issues, causes and campaigns

  • Drafts digital toolkits and other digital communications materials that contribute to integrated campaigns

  • Executes paid social media strategies and tactics, including ads, boosts and campaigns

  • Executes social media advertising promotions and campaigns

  • Produces regular analytics reports on social media, website and digital marketing campaign performance

  • Assists with digital outreach to social media influencers

  • Coordinates with creative team on creation of graphics and video

  • Assists in managing the firm’s internal branded communications including our website, social media and newsletter

  • Assists with streamlining and implementing internal digital processes across the firm, as well as communicating with internal stakeholders

  • Handles various administrative and operations tasks, including but not limited to coordinating client billing information, executing internal communications, research, updating databases, organizing digital files, scheduling meetings and notetaking

  • Troubleshoots client issues related to social media
