Director of Digital Strategy

Ceisler Media and Issue Advocacy seeks a Director of Digital Strategy to deepen and expand the firm’s integrated content offerings. This individual will be responsible for managing, developing, executing and measuring digital media efforts for a variety of firm clients. In addition, the Director of Digital Strategy will serve as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders, existing clients and prospective new business partners. This position will report to the Firm’s COO & SVP and has the opportunity to be based in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh or Harrisburg.  The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong digital strategy and content skills, ability to demonstrate leadership skills internally and externally with clients.

Education

  • At least seven years of digital strategy experience at a public relations agency and/or an in-house communication leadership role for a corporation, political campaign or nonprofit organization and at least five years of experience in communications and/or grassroots advocacy

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, political science or other liberal arts discipline; certifications and trainings in digital media are a plus

Requirements

  • Proficient in all social platforms (notably Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube), including the advertising components of each

  • Proficient in social listening/monitoring and scheduling software (SproutSocial, Brandwatch, Hootsuite)

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Excels in a team culture and collaborative environment

  • Experience leading project teams, client work and delivering presentations

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and execute against deliverables under deadlines and competing priorities

  • Proficient in leading and integrating digital and social media campaigns into traditional earned media or advocacy efforts

  • Understanding of best practices for digital advocacy, social media campaigns and analyzing key metrics and analytics; integrated campaign experience a plus

  • Strong understanding of public relations and a proven track record with media engagement.

  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing skills

  • Results-oriented and service-minded with ability to develop and foster relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally

  • Willingness to adapt to the many changing requirements and needs of a fast-paced company and industry

  • Proven track record of excellence, ownership and accountability

Responsibilities

  • Lead digital and creative team to deliver on client needs including, but not limited to, social media content strategy, graphics, video, digital advertising buys, social listening services and other online tactics that serve as part of an integrated campaign strategy

  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on all aspects of digital media campaigns, including paid advertising and additional targeting to reach desired audiences for maximum impact

  • Collaborate with members of the firm to develop digital strategy, design creative components and implement campaign tactics for existing clients, and support similar activities for new business proposals

  • Able to deliver against functional responsibilities in strategic, self-guided and collaborative manner on high volume of accounts of varying scales and scopes

  • Develop efficient team processes for clients and campaigns that include the human capital and software resources required for growth minded scaling

  • Cultivate a culture that tests assumptions through data-based proof points to determine the most effective way to achieve measurable outcomes for the client’s goals

  • Support the growth and development of team members within the department and cross functionally that will lead to the design of thoughtful, integrated and measurable media campaigns

  • Establish reporting mechanism for clients that shows the quantitative and qualitative, comparable results that demonstrate the impact of digital and creative efforts as part of a campaign
