Graphic Designer

Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy seeks a Graphic Designer to join its growing digital and creative team. The right candidate will have a minimum of two years’ design experience and possess a proven track record at developing creative design projects that support multi-faceted communications strategies and issue advocacy campaigns. The individual must be comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Director of Digital and Creative Services for the firm. 

Education/Experience 

  • At least two years’ experience at a public relations agency, and/or an in-house design role for a corporation or nonprofit organization. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Advertising or a related field is preferred 

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages relationships with project leads and clients to create project timelines and key deliverables

  • Prepare digital graphics for social media and static digital ads; ability to design animated graphics a plus. 

  • Create fact sheets, infographics, presentations and newsletters and other materials, in some instances developing concepts in accordance with existing brand guidelines

  • Design graphics for digital advertising and social media content. 

  • Collaborate with Multimedia Designer for project support needs related to video and photography. 

  • Serve as a partner to brainstorm concepts with the team that will highlight original, engaging design solutions. 

  • Stay aware of current trends in creative, marketing, design, social media, and competitive landscapes.

Required Competencies

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere Pro).  Experience with After Effects and HTML5 design a significant plus. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel 
  • Photography and filming experience a plus
  • Significant time management and project management skills.  Highly focused, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Associate

Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy is a full-service public relations and issue advocacy firm that guides our clients through every step of their communications campaigns.  With three offices across the Commonwealth and a growing list of clients, we are hiring an Associate for our Philadelphia office.  Our Associates are an integral part of our team – they are our utility players, supporting our leadership team on a variety of projects, making important connections and delivering results.

Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science or other liberal arts discipline

  • 1-3 years’ experience at an agency or an in-house communications role at a professional service firm, non-profit or public sector

 

Responsibilities

  • Assists Senior Associates and Directors in developing multi-faceted communications and grassroots advocacy plans

  • Assists with media outreach including both proactive (crafting pitches, developing reporter relationships, etc.) and reactive (taking media calls about events, breaking news, etc.)

  • Drafts press releases, media advisories, letters to the editor/op-eds, media pitches, blog posts, and other communications materials as required

Senior Associate

Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy seeks a Senior Associate to join its Philadelphia office. The right candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience and possess a proven track record at developing and implementing multi-faceted communications strategies and issue advocacy campaigns. The individual must be comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to a Director within the firm. 

Education/Experience 

  • ​At least five years’ experience at a public relations agency, political campaign and/or an in-house communications managerial role for a professional services company or non-profit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science or other liberal arts discipline 

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages relationships with clients and leads project teams, developing project timelines and key deliverables

  • Maintain relationships with Philadelphia elected official and policy stakeholders for firm and client intel 

  • Track major policy and legislative initiatives, occasionally serving as a representative of the firm in City Hall

  • Develops, drives and implements multi-faceted communications, media relations and grassroots advocacy plans

  • Supports the creation of compelling written materials including press releases, media advisories, letters to the editor/op-eds, media pitches, speeches, testimony, byline articles, white papers, digital content, etc.

Director of Digital and Creative Services

Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy seeks a Director of Digital and Creative Services to deepen and expand the firm’s integrated content offerings.  This individual will be responsible for managing, developing, executing and measuring digital media efforts for a variety of firm clients.  In addition, the Director of Digital and Creative Services will serve as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders, existing clients and prospective new business partners.   This position will report to the Firm’s Principal and has the opportunity to be based in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia or Harrisburg.  The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong project management skills and serve as a leader within the agency, spearheading the growth of this business line.

Education/Experience 

  • At least ten years’ digital experience at a public relations agency and/or an in-house communication leadership role for a corporation, political campaign or non-profit organization and at least ten years’ experience in communications and/or grassroots advocacy

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science or other liberal arts disciplines.  Certifications and trainings in digital media are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead digital and creative team to support client needs including but not limited to social media content strategy, graphics, video, digital advertising buys, social listening services and other online tactics that serve as part of an integrated campaign strategy

  • Collaborate with other departments on digital strategy, creative components and campaign tactics for existing clients and new business prospects

  • Able to deliver against functional responsibilities in strategic and self-guided manner on high volume of accounts of varying scales and scope

  • Develop efficient team and firm processes and infrastructure for clients, campaigns including the human capital and software resources required to growth-minded scaling

  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on all aspects of digital media campaigns, including paid advertising and additional targeting to reach desired audiences for maximum impact

Required Competencies

  • Experience in leading and integrating digital and social media campaigns into traditional earned media or advocacy efforts

  • Proficient in all social platforms (notably Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube) and including advertising components of each

  • Senior leadership experience leading project teams, client work and delivering presentations.

  • Understanding of best practices for digital advocacy, social media campaigns, and tracking analytics

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and execute against deliverables under deadlines and competing priorities

  • Proficient in social listening/monitoring and scheduling software (SproutSocial, Brandwatch, Hootsuite)

Internships

 

We are looking for interns for Summer 2020 to assist associates with a variety of activities in the Philadelphia office. Ceisler Media’s valuable interns complement the work of Ceisler Media staff with supplementation of educational training sessions. This is a paid summer internship. Completion of a Ceisler Media internship in no way guarantees employment upon completion.

Responsibilities:

  • News monitoring

  • Conducting research for clients

  • Making follow-up calls to reporters

  • Attending meetings

  • Organizing news clips for clients

Requirements:

  • Majoring in Communications, Political Science, Urban Studies, Business, or in a related field.

  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior year (previous internship(s) required).

  • Interested in politics and what is going on in the area and across the state.

  • Strong writing skills.          

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Able to work 40 hour weeks for a minimum of 12 weeks.
