We are looking for interns for Spring 2021 to assist associates with a variety of activities in the Philadelphia office. Ceisler Media’s valuable interns complement the work of Ceisler Media staff with supplementation of educational training sessions. This is a paid summer internship. Completion of a Ceisler Media internship in no way guarantees employment upon completion.

Responsibilities:

  • News monitoring

  • Conducting research for clients

  • Making follow-up calls to reporters

  • Crafting messages for clients

  • Planning events

  • Attending meetings

  • Organizing news clips for clients

  • Drafting media advisories

  • Sending pitches to the media

 

Requirements:

  • Majoring in Communications, Political Science, Urban Studies, Business, or a related Liberal Arts field.

  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior year (previous internship(s) or relevant experience required).

  • Interested in politics and issue advocacy on the local and statewide level, in particular.

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Able to work a minimum of 12 hours/week for a minimum of 12 weeks.

Digital Associate

 

Ceisler Media & Issue Advocacy seeks a Digital Associate to expand our firm’s digital capacity and organize digital team operations. This individual will assist digital and creative efforts for a variety of firm clients, take the lead on aspects of internal administrative processes, and support internal stakeholders and communications. This position will report to the Director of Digital and Creative Services. 

In addition to the required technical skills detailed below, the right candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills. Candidates should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple tasks, and working under deadlines. Moreover, applicants should be passionate about keeping up with the ever-changing digital landscape; this role will be one that evolves to meet the needs of the industry. 

Candidates must live in the Philadelphia area and within commuting distance to our Philadelphia office located at 1525 Locust Street. While Ceisler Media is currently operating remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, candidates must be based locally. 
 

Education:

  • 2+ years of digital experience in a public relations agency, corporation, political campaign, government administration, or non-profit organization and at least 4+ years of total experience in communications and/or grassroots advocacy.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Certifications and training in digital media are a plus but not required.

 

Requirements:

  • Supports digital and creative client services, including but not limited to social media, website creation and content, graphics, video, digital advertising buys, analytics reporting, and other online tactics that contribute to integrated campaigns.

  • Assists in managing the firm’s internal branded communications including our website, social media, and newsletter.  

  • Assists Director with streamlining and implementing internal digital processes across the firm, as well as communicating with internal stakeholders.

  • Handles various administrative and operations tasks, including but not limited to coordinating client billing information, executing internal communications, research, updating databases, organizing digital files, scheduling meetings, and notetaking.

Required Technical Knowledge and Skills:

Hands-on experience with:

  • Principles and methods of planning and executing digital campaigns and strategy.

  • Social media management, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

  • Best practices related to social media optimization and algorithm performance.

  • Digital advertising platforms, including Facebook/Instagram Business Manager, Twitter Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and Google Ads.

  • Policies related to advertising on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. 

  • Analytics reporting, including social media analytics and Google Analytics.

  • Digital copywriting for social media and the web.

  • Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

 

High-level awareness of:

  • Sprout Social or other social media management applications.

  • Content management systems, including Squarespace, Wix, and WordPress.

  • Principles and methods of website content management.

  • Principles and methods of search engine optimization (SEO).

  • Principles of graphic design, videography, and branding. (Formal training not required.)

  • Political digital advertising verification and authorization requirements.

 

Experience with Constant Contact (or other email platforms) is a plus but not required.

Experience with public speaking or delivering presentations is a plus but not required.
